Teaching Philosophy |
As an educator, my overall objective is to create an environment where students feel safe, confident, and mutual respect. Building positive relationships all while being an advocate for building a healthy lifestyle is what I strive for as a teacher. Having a positive relationship with my students will help maximize student engagement and show them that I care about them as well as their success. I also will make sure that I reach the needs of all students through my teaching. that My hopes are that my students will enter and leave my classroom with smiles on their faces, and that they understand the benefits of physical activity in and out of the classroom.
Classroom Management Philosophy
My philosophy of classroom management is based upon the teachings of Love and Logic and Wong. I believe building positive relationships with your students can help with the productivity and environment of the classroom. Love and Logic in my classroom will have students knowing they are appreciated, respected, and trusted. I want my classroom to be a safe space for my students. There will be many opportunities for group games, so students have the chance to work together as a team and build social and teamwork skills. As for Wong, establishing classroom procedures and routines are important so that students know what is expected of them. These procedures will turn into routines and are crucial in a physical education setting. Having the students follow the procedures set will reduce the chances of injury, misbehaviors, and mishandling of the gym equipment.
