Lesson Plans
Double Ball This is a Native American game that I taught to students in Standing Rock. It is similar to lacrosse and the students really enjoyed playing it. Students had to incorporate teamwork skills throughout. After the game I was able to discuss with students certain strategies they used and the importance behind playing this game. |

Kangaroo Tag
This is a game that I taught to students at Solheim Elementary. It kept students active and tied into one of their standard based grades which is being able to hop. I used two types of formative assessments for this lesson. |
Make it Take it
This is another game that I taught at Solheim to 5th graders. Students used different balls throughout the activity and were challenged to throw the balls into the can from different dots placed around the gym. |
Ping Pong (Two Day)
This was a two-day lesson I taught at Bismarck High School for 9th graders. For the second day, I created an activity called Redemption which kept the students engaged for the last day of the unit. I also created a quiz attached in the lesson plan that covers terms and basic information that they would be taught. |
Mile Run Test
This was a timed lesson I taught to 11th graders at Bismarck High School. Students ran inside on the track above the gym while having their partner record their time and put it into a fitness app. Depending on their time, they were placed into a fitness level and were given information on what the score means. |
Pickleball
This is an activity I taught to 12th graders at Century High School. Many students enjoyed playing Kings Court and were competitive. |
Nitro Ball
This is an activity that I taught to 10th graders at Century. I was able to place students into teams that I believed would make the game the most competitive. Nitro Ball is a great introduction activity to the volleyball unit. |

Artifacts
This is a homework policy I created for middle/high school physical education.
This rubric that I created would be used in an elementary physical education setting and is a form of standard based grading.
This is a performance assessment that I created for a high school flag football unit. Students should be able to have other opportunities to express themselves in physical education and this gives them the opportunity to do so.
